Day 2: Heritage Journey through Tbilisi

Explore the historical neighborhood of Tbilisi Metekhi, Sioni and Anchiskhati churches stand next to soviet structures and new buildings of the President Palace, the Justice house, the famous Bridge of peace. Lift to Narikala fortress by cable car and visit the statue of Mother of Georgia, standing proudly next to the fortress. From Narikala walk down to Sulfur bath district constructed in the XVII- XVIII centuries under Islamic architectural style. The district is also called “Abanotubani” where several, hot sulfur springs immersed. This place is legendary which gave birth to city life even before the V century. Visit Waterfall near botanical garden. Then continue the tour to Chardin Street, a famous pedestrian area aligned with international cafes, small shops and Gabriadze Puppet Theater with the clock tower. Continue tour to the main avenue of Shota Rustaveli (constructed in the XIX century) with the theaters, Museums, art galleries and Parliament building.

Day 3: Highland Harmony: Zhinvali to Kazbegi Expedition

On the way to Kazbegi you will make a stop in Ananuri and Zhinvali Reservoir for a couple of minutes. Zhinvali, also Jinvali, is an artificial water reservoir located on the river Aragvi in Georgia. The building of the hydroelectric dam formed the Zhinvali Reservoir. The dam was built in 1986. Water is a perfectly blue color surrounded by mountains. Ananuri fortress is a sixteenth-century castle complex on the Aragvi River. The fortress stands beside the famous Georgian Military Highway, overlooking a large Zhinvali lake. Continue a stunning drive from Gudauri along the Tergi River that will bring you to Kazbegi – the main town in the region. It is the third-highest peak in Georgia (after Mount Shkhara and Janga) and the seventh-highest summit in the Caucasus Mountains. Kazbegi is also the second- highest volcanic summit in the Caucasus, after Mount Elbrus. The summit lies directly to the west of the town of Stepantsminda and is the most prominent geographic feature of the area. Mount Kazbegi is the highest peak of Eastern Georgia. From Kazbegi we drive to Gergeti Trinity Church located at 2170m. Weather permitting, you may catch a glimpse of one of the highest glaciers in the Caucasus – Mt Kazbegi (5047m).

Day 4: Savor Kakheti: Wine and Culture Journey

Kakheti is the most popular wine region in Georgia, due to the close location to Tbilisi and many wine producers there made the place number one in Georgia by tourists visiting to explore wine culture. First stop while driving to Kakheti is Bodbe Nunnery. Bodbe Nunnery of St. Nino is located 2 kilometers away from Sighnaghi. According to legend it is built on the burial place of Saint Nino. A saint for Georgians who converted our religion into Christianity. Georgian Kings were paying great attention to the Bodbe Monastery. It has been repaired and restored many times. Beside its history the area itself is very beautiful. After the nunnery visit we drive to the direction of Sighnaghi – City of Love.
Sighnaghi, a town in Kakheti is 75 km east from Tbilisi. Although it is one of Georgia's smallest towns, which serves as a popular tourist destination due to its location at the heart of Georgia's wine-growing region, its picturesque landscapes, pastel houses with wooden fretwork balconies, and narrow, cobblestone streets. There are various wineries in Kakheti as the region is very developed as a wine producer, so as per preferences one of the wineries may be chosen to visit among them and put the visit to be on the way of the tour.
